Background

Customers in Miami, Florida can have an opulent car-buying experience at Braman Motors. This location is the home of Braman Motors’ corporate office, sales division, and customer parking facility. Precast construction allowed these activities to continue throughout the construction of the new complex. With a projected building life of more than 50 years, precast was selected to assist in minimizing long-term maintenance expenses.

A 480,000-square-foot, seven-level automotive showroom, storage, and service facility was built as part of the Braman Motors project. It features 80,000 square feet of air-conditioned car display, office space, and 400,000 square feet of inventory storage for more than 1,600 automobiles. Sequencing and working around the current facilities, which remained operational during the entire construction time, allowed for the completion of the project in 26 months.

Braman Motors in Miami selected Coreslab to supply its precast concrete components. It was an advantageous choice because precast concrete could fulfill the project’s strict timetable and deliver the intended architectural appeal. Additionally, it managed to maintain the building’s aesthetic appeal while continuing to offer the required structural soundness. Columns, beams, double tees, spandrels, wall panels, rooftop trellis components, and precast “picture frame” components were among the prestressed and precast parts used in this project.

Braman Motors’ precast concrete structure is strong enough to endure the region’s harsh weather for many years while maintaining its visual appeal. The Braman Motors Building won the Florida Parking Association Award of Excellence.

“The construction of a 500,000 sqft, multi-level facility on a tight site with on-going operations is quite a logistics challenge that has required close coordination with our staff to limit operational disruptions; a task that was expertly handled.”
